Supporting Your Recovery: Resources for Having Holiday Fun

2021 saw an all-time spike in death from drug overdose. The holidays can be quite dangerous if you have problems with drug or alcohol, even for people in recovery. Alcohol and drug use often accompany social and family events.

Celebration often involves heavy drinking and drug use. Those prone to drinking or using too much are at greater risk problems. Memories the good times where drugs and alcohol worked can boost heavier than usual drinking and drugging.

The social, political and economic disruptions created by the pandemic leaves people vulnerable. People look for relief and a source of renewed pleasure in their drug and alcohol consumption. Increasing exponentially are the chances of more severe consequences from relapse and reckless behavior, even for those practicing a sober lifestyle.

Community events and resources which can divert away from alcohol and drug use are available for everyone.
