Patient Information About Addiction Medications

SAPC contracted treatment agencies should use only information approved by SAPC to inform patients and their adult collateral contacts (such as, but not limited to, adult family members) about addiction medications. The information about addiction medications must be specific to each type of addiction medication that is clinically effective for treating that patient’s specific SUD(s). This information may be provided to the patient in printed, electronic, and/or verbal format(s) which must be based upon which best serves the patient’s abilities and needs to receive information about available treatment services.

APPROVAL OF ADDITIONAL ADDICTION MEDICATION INFORMATION

SAPC contracted agencies may request review and approval of additional information about addiction medications. This approval request should be made in writing and submitted via email to sapc.cst@ph.lacounty.gov.
